That is why if you have purchased the SIMs from us, but ever want to switch the operator - we have the technology to do that update over the air, without replacing the SIM card. Let’s break it down. In the past, if you installed a SIM card into a device — whether that’s a sensor on a factory floor or a tracker in a vehicle — you were locked in. Changing mobile providers usually meant physically swapping SIMs, which was time-consuming, costly, and often just not worth the hassle. The SGP standards are changing that. What does this mean for you as a customer? It means freedom. Less lock-in. Lower switching costs. And more control over your IoT connectivity — now and in the future. At Tele2 IoT, we’re fully onboard with SGP.32. We’re committed to giving you the flexibility to move, grow, and adapt your connectivity without being tied down.
  • SGP.02 Was the first step. It made it possible to change SIM settings remotely — but it was still quite limited.
  • SGP.22 Brought in embedded SIMs (eSIMs), allowing profiles to be downloaded or updated without removing the SIM.
  • SGP.32 Is the latest evolution — and the biggest leap. It adds smarter, more flexible control: you can switch between providers, manage multiple profiles, and do it all at scale, remotely.

Tele2 IoT delivers one of the first commercially available end-to-end SGP.32 solutions together with Cisco and Idemia Secure Transactions.
